FESSENDEN HOUSE: THE FACTS

FESSENDEN HOUSE IS:

  • A home for those who would otherwise be homeless
  • A safe haven to recover from alcohol and/or drug addiction and learn how to live with HIV/AIDS
  • A welcoming and supportive residence for men who often fail to find a welcome elsewhere
  • A group home unlike any other in Westchester County: two Religious brothers live with the residents and share their lives with them
Located in the Southwest Quadrant of Yonkers, NY, which:
  • has been designated an Economic Development Zone
  • has one of the highest rates of vaccine preventable diseases, tuberculosis, and HIV/AIDS in Westchester County
  • is home to one in five families who live in poverty
  • leads Westchester County in unemployment, high school dropouts, overcrowded housing, and children in poverty
  • is home to approximately 94% of Yonkers’ at-risk youth ("at-risk" meaning at risk of teen pregnancy, school failure/ dropout, and/or juvenile crime/delinquency).
  • A faith-based organization that has no government funding and relies on a few caring individuals and a small group of foundations for assistance
  • Dependent on this small group of donors whose collective generosity provides us with 70% of our annual $133,000 budget. We cannot continue to offer our services without you.

You can make a real difference in the lives of men who are ready to make a difference in their lives.

Please give as generously as you can. We would be happy to have you arrange for a visit. Give Brother Christopher or Brother Randy a call: 914/966-8051.
